The discovery of a fetus, approximately 3–6 months old, buried underground in the area of the 12th workshop at the Fergana Oil Refinery has caused significant public concern. The incident was identified yesterday, November 28, after workshop employees noticed a spot dug up by a stray dog.
According to the information, an investigative team led by the city prosecutor arrived at the scene, and the soil area, the fetus, and blood-like stains around it were taken as material evidence. The preliminary forensic medical examination report noted that the fetus was 3–4 months old, male, and had died in the womb due to infection and hypoxia.
Currently, a wide-scale investigation is being conducted to identify the mother of the fetus. Additionally, the list of women who recently sought medical assistance after an “abortion” or artificial pregnancy termination is being examined. Factory employees will also undergo separate checks.
The prosecutor’s office has placed the pre-investigation process under supervision. This incident once again brings issues of legislation, medical care, and societal morality into public discussion.
