Woman extradited from Turkey in connection with human trafficking arrested

A woman, who had been in international search since 2021, was extradited from Turkey to Uzbekistan. Born in 1991, the woman was suspected of human trafficking and had been hiding in Turkey. She deceived young women, took them to Turkey, and forced them into prostitution.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan, the woman was returned from Istanbul to Uzbekistan. The measures to apprehend her were carried out through the cooperation of the Interpol central offices of both countries. According to the information, penalties are applied for crimes related to human trafficking, and currently, the punishment for such crimes ranges from 5 to 15 years.
