Privatization of Mobiuz: the final trio has been given an additional deadline

The privatization of 100% of the state's share in the authorized capital of Universal Mobile Systems LLC (Mobiuz) has entered a decisive stage. According to the State Assets Management Agency, during the trading process, 10 non-binding offers were received from foreign investors, and 7 applicants were transferred to the final stage.
The most important aspect is that by the deadline, that is, until December 19, 2025, 6 applicants submitted mandatory (fixed price) proposals. These proposals were analyzed, and 3 candidates were selected, recognized as the most competitive in terms of purchase price and other key terms of the transaction. Now this "final trio" has been given additional time until 23:59 on January 23, 2026, to further improve their proposals.
Recall that in August 2025, Davaktiv reported that 15 international and domestic companies expressed interest in the privatization of Mobiuz. Bloomberg also wrote in July, citing sources, that the government of Uzbekistan expects about $300 million in revenue from this deal - this figure was later mentioned in local media.
Now the intrigue is simple: until January 23rd, the bidding will be "hot," and ultimately, which participant will take the lead with the best price and terms. When competition in the telecommunications market intensifies, there is usually only one losing side - the old quality. The rest is beneficial: opportunities for investment, modernization of the industry, and improvement of services can be opened.
