Mobile numbers can now be transferred to another name online via MyGov

Digital services in Uzbekistan are becoming more convenient, creating new opportunities for the public. Citizens can now transfer their mobile phone numbers to another person remotely and online. The MyGov portal officially announced this.
Previously, such a process required significant time and effort. That is, to change the number owner, the current owner and the new user had to go to the mobile operator's office together, wait in line, and sign documents on-site. Now, all these stages have been digitized and will be carried out online in several steps.
The process of using the service is simple: citizens need to log in to the My.gov.uz portal or the MyGov mobile app and submit an application through the "Re-register Mobile Number" section. After entering the required information, the request will be sent for confirmation.
An important aspect is that both parties participate in the process. That is, both the person transferring the number and the citizen receiving it must pass Face-ID verification through the MyID system. This ensures security and transparency.
Applications are usually reviewed within 1 to 5 days. Currently, Uztelecom, Beeline, and Mobiuz subscribers can use this service. Other operators are planned to be gradually connected to this system in the near future.
Regarding payment, the service cost is determined by each operator's tariff policy. In some cases, such as transferring a number between close relatives, the transfer may be free of charge.
In short, the new service eliminates unnecessary hassle and time loss. It is no exaggeration to say that this is another step towards a digital Uzbekistan.
