Tashkent and Ankara: Strategic model for protecting sovereignty

In the context of increasing pressure on Uzbekistan's independence from certain foreign ideological circles, official Tashkent is demonstrating its balanced and strong diplomatic response. According to experts, our country is forming a new security model based on strategic calculation and practical alliance, without resorting to empty rhetoric in foreign policy.

Meeting "4+4" in Ankara: A strong signal to the Kremlin

The fourth meeting of the Uzbek-Turkish Joint Strategic Planning Group, held on January 20 in the Turkish capital, was not just another event. According to analyst Jahongir Khakimov, this meeting is a practical response to imperialist claims in the Russian information space, in particular, to the questioning of our independence by political scientists like Alexander Dugin.

Strategic logic within the delegations: the simultaneous participation of not only the Minister of Foreign Affairs, but also the Chairman of the State Security Service, the Minister of Defense, and the Minister of Internal Affairs from Uzbekistan demonstrated that Tashkent's security bloc is united towards a common goal. The participation of heads of defense, internal affairs, and intelligence (MİT) from the Turkish side also indicates that the military-political synchronization between the two countries has reached its peak.

Balanced diplomacy: A future free from dependence

Uzbekistan openly indicated through negotiations in Ankara that it does not want to tie its security to just one center of power.

  • Anti-ideological institution: Threats are being responded to not through harsh statements, but through alternative strategic partnerships and consolidation with fraternal peoples.
  • Sovereign choice: Uzbekistan does not want to become either a dependent ally or a geopolitical battlefield. The goal is to maintain the capacity for independent decision-making.

Conclusion: New strategic reality

Today, Uzbekistan is not a passive observer on the global stage, but an independent actor, firmly defending its national interests. The renewed defense doctrine and strategic rapprochement with Turkey will increase the country's resilience to external pressures.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's personal reception of the Uzbek delegation also confirmed that relations between the two countries have reached a new qualitative level and that Tashkent's voice is important in processes from the Arctic to Central Asia.

In your opinion, to what extent does such close cooperation with the Turkic states in the field of security strengthen the sovereignty of Uzbekistan?
