Buses in Bukhara will gradually transition to a cashless payment system

The procedure for paying for bus fares in Bukhara will change. From February 1, 2026, a cashless payment system will be introduced on 7 bus routes, and from April 1, 2026, on the remaining existing routes. According to the new procedure, payments are accepted only in electronic form.
The regional governor has signed a corresponding decree on this matter. According to the document, the Bukhara city administration must take measures within a month to gradually install self-service automated information kiosks for the sale of electronic tickets at bus stops throughout the city.
Also, the Bukhara Regional Transport Department will ensure that buses running on all routes in the city are equipped with validators. It is planned to constantly monitor the payment of fares through the ATTO automated payment system.
