After arriving in Islamabad as part of his state visit, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the headquarters of the company "Global Industry and Defense Solutions" as one of the key points of the program. There, the head of state held a meeting with the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Pakistan Defense Forces, Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces - Field Marshal Asim Munir.
Issues of further deepening multifaceted cooperation and strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Pakistan were at the center of the negotiations. The parties discussed in detail the directions that can bring relations between the two countries to a new level.
Particular emphasis was placed on expanding cooperation in the military and military-technical spheres. In particular, the importance of coordinating efforts, exchanging experience and information in combating various threats to security was emphasized.
The agenda also included issues of intensifying cooperation between leading defense industry enterprises of the two countries, expanding opportunities for joint production and technological cooperation. The practical significance of expanding training programs for military specialists, improving their qualifications, exchanging experience, as well as organizing joint exercises was noted.
Transport and logistics were also discussed at the meeting. An exchange of views took place on priority areas for accelerating the implementation of promising infrastructure projects and strengthening regional connectivity. This shows that cooperation is not limited to defense, but also supports economic and strategic interests.
One of the most important agreements was the decision to prepare a separate "roadmap" for the development of military and military-technical cooperation. It is expected that this document will clearly define future practical steps and serve the systematic implementation of plans.
At the end of the meeting, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the developments of the company "Global Industry and Defense Solutions." In particular, samples of modern Pakistani military equipment and weapons were presented. This visit is considered an important step towards further strengthening trust and practical cooperation between the two countries.
