Minister of Healthcare Asilbek Khudoyarov held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Uzbekistan Yu Jun. During the meeting, a proposal was considered to conduct high-tech operations on 500 children with heart defects by Chinese cardiac surgeons this year.
According to the press service of the Ministry, operations are planned to be performed in several medical institutions. In particular, the National Children's Medical Center, the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Surgery, and the Children's Multidisciplinary Clinic of Tashkent State Medical University are expected to participate in this process.
During the negotiations, the issue of strengthening the material and technical base of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center of Forensic Medical Examination was also discussed. Plans for the modernization of a number of medical institutions were also considered.
The parties also exchanged views on the prospects for implementing grant projects aimed at developing traditional Chinese medicine in Uzbekistan. The importance of expanding cooperation in this area was noted.
In addition, an agreement was reached to accelerate the implementation of projects financed by Chinese grants. It was noted that these steps will contribute to the speedy implementation of joint initiatives in the field of medicine.
