A fire broke out at the "Izza" construction materials market in Tashkent

A fire broke out at the "Izza" construction market in Tashkent. The report of the incident was received by the Tashkent City Department of Emergency Situations on February 21. The fire occurred in the Uchtepa district, on Kaunchi Street, in the area of the construction products market.
According to preliminary information, there were no reports of injuries as a result of the fire. It is reported that the Minister of Emergency Situations, Azizbek Ikramov, also arrived at the scene.
As a result of the fire, frames and door products located on an area of about 200 square meters in the market area were damaged by fire. Thanks to the quick actions of rescuers, a larger loss was prevented - 2000 square meters of land were saved.
It is noteworthy that on February 16 of this year, this market was inspected by the State Fire Supervision body in the prescribed manner. Due to the fact that the inspection revealed a number of violations of fire safety rules, the market was temporarily suspended and disconnected from the electricity supply for 3 days until the shortcomings were eliminated.
It was reported that the market administration submitted a letter of guarantee to the district Emergency Situations Department to eliminate the identified defects. However, unfortunately, the fire broke out due to the fact that the violations were not fully eliminated in a timely manner.
In short, this incident reminds us once again of one truth: fire safety is not something to say "we'll do it later." If the shortcomings are corrected in time, much will be saved in advance.
