A case of illegal importation of mobile devices of a large value was revealed in the Syrdarya region. Based on operational information received by the Anti-Smuggling Department of the regional customs administration, a special event was held in cooperation with law enforcement agencies.
It was reported that a Spark car driven by a citizen under preliminary surveillance was stopped on the M-39 highway in the Syrdarya district. During the inspection of the vehicle in the prescribed manner, smartphones of foreign production that had not undergone customs clearance, had not been registered in the IMEI system, and were being exported without any documents were found in its trunk.
During the inspection, a total of 35 phones were found. Of these, 30 are iPhone 17 Pro Max and 5 are iPhone 17 Pro models. According to preliminary estimates, the total cost of these devices is about 700 million soums.
Currently, the material evidence found in connection with this case has been temporarily confiscated. The investigation and additional verification of the case are ongoing.
