Two state executors working at the Mirzaobod district enforcement bureau in Syrdarya region have been detained after an operation carried out by the State Security Service. Investigators say the officials were involved in an illegal scheme linked to the enforcement of a court document issued in December 2021 by the Guliston inter-district civil court.
According to the investigation, the court order required the recovery of 30 million soums from a debtor. The two executors allegedly demanded 20 million soums from the debtor in exchange for closing the enforcement case and received the money. They then reportedly told the claimant that the debtor was in difficult financial condition and handed over only 14 million soums, while obtaining a written note stating that the full 30 million soums had been paid.
During the operation, the suspects were caught with material evidence while dividing the remaining 6 million soums in front of the district prosecutor's office building. A criminal case has been opened by the Syrdarya regional prosecutor's office, and the two suspects have been placed in custody. Investigative actions are continuing.
Authorities advised citizens who encounter similar situations to contact the State Security Service through its short hotline number 1520. Officials said the identity of applicants will be kept confidential.
