Shavkat Mirziyoyev laid a wreath at the monument of Amir Temur

The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, visited the Amir Temur Square located in the capital, Tashkent, and laid a wreath at the foot of the monument to the great statesman, famous military commander, patron of science, culture, and art, Sahibqiron Amir Temur. This act has important symbolic significance for our country and once again demonstrated love for national values and historical heritage.
This year, the 690th anniversary of Amir Temur is being widely celebrated in our country. On this occasion, large-scale spiritual, educational, scientific, cultural, and artistic events are being held in the country. Amir Temur in the 14th century, during a very difficult and complex historical period, restored national statehood and showed great courage on the path of the homeland’s freedom, entering history as a great historical figure. The statehood he founded and his actions left an indelible mark in the history of world civilization for many years.
The life and activities of Sahibqiron have been thoroughly studied by scholars and historians around the world for almost seven centuries. Thousands of artistic, scientific, and cultural works dedicated to Amir Temur and the Timurid history have been created in various countries, which shows the invaluable importance of this heritage. Therefore, our people always take pride in the great figure born on our sacred land.
Today, in the New Uzbekistan, the deep study of Amir Temur and Timurid history and heritage, and the further promotion of its core values, has great importance. The Timurid Renaissance serves as a source of confidence, inspiration, and energy for our people in laying the foundation of a new era of Awakening.
The wise teachings of Amir Temur, such as “Power is in justice” and “With justice, the world will flourish,” today serve as a practical guide for building a social state, honoring human dignity, and implementing large-scale reforms. In this sense, the heritage of Sahibqiron is connected not only with the historical past of our people but also with the current development and future goals.
In recent years, special attention has been paid to deeply studying the heritage of Amir Temur and the Timurids and widely promoting it internationally. For this purpose, a special decision was made on the occasion of the 690th anniversary, and a wide range of activities is being carried out. For example, every year April is celebrated as Amir Temur Month; new scientific and artistic books, films, performances, and works of visual art are being created. Also, the famous work “Temur Tuzuklari” has been republished.
In our country, there are state awards, squares and avenues named after Amir Temur, as well as educational and cultural institutions. The “Temurbek Schools” in the regions serve as exemplary centers for educating young people in the spirit of loyalty to the homeland. Currently, a prestigious international conference dedicated to the Amir Temur and Timurid Renaissance is being held in the capital, with participation from historians, writers, and cultural and social figures from various countries.
Today, following the teachings of Sahibqiron, attention is being given to building a just state, supporting youth, women, and elders, developing science, education, and constructive work, as well as cooperating with the world. These measures clearly demonstrate the urgent significance of Amir Temur’s heritage in our present life.
To understand our identity and pass down the legacy of ancestors to future generations, large spiritual and educational centers have been established. In Tashkent, the Center of Islamic Civilization has been opened, in Samarkand the Imam Bukhari complex has been constructed, and the State Museum of Timurid History, built 30 years ago, has been completely renovated according to modern standards. Now, this center has become a hub of knowledge, education, innovative thinking, new ideas, and research. All necessary conditions are provided here to educate the younger generation in the spirit of national pride and patriotism.
During the event, with high respect to the memory of Amir Temur, a wreath was laid at his monument, and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev planted a seedling in the square. This act serves as a continuation of traditions, strengthening national values, and improving public spaces.
