Prominent blogger Temurmalik has announced that law enforcement agencies have launched an investigation into the death of his father. He said that on April 14, his father was taken to a psychiatric hospital in the Samarkand district by officers of the Samarkand city police department, where he died under mysterious circumstances.
According to the blogger, his father had recently suffered from Alzheimer's disease and was being cared for at home by his family. However, on April 10, he "disappeared for unknown reasons" and was found at the psychiatric hospital after a day-long search.
According to reports, since it was Saturday at the time, the patient could only be taken out of the hospital with permission on Monday. He was returned home on Monday, but his condition was critical and he died a day later.
The Prosecutor General's Office confirmed that pre-investigation investigations have begun into the incident. A forensic medical examination has been ordered to determine the cause of death.
According to the office, the investigation will be conducted comprehensively and impartially, and a legal decision will be made based on its results.
