Large drug shipments seized in Surxondaryo and Khorezm

During operational measures carried out by the departments of the State Security Service for the Surxondaryo and Khorezm regions, large quantities of narcotic substances were uncovered in two major cases.
In the first case, a person born in 1985 and previously convicted, residing in the Kushkopir district, was stopped and searched in the Urganch district, where 4 kg 407 grams of opium were found and registered as evidence.
In the second case, a Lacetti car traveling on the Beruniy–Urganch route was stopped and inspected at the Cholish traffic police post in the Urganch district. It was discovered that 4 kg 541 grams of opium belonged to a previously convicted person born in 2002.
According to investigation data, suspects in both cases planned to sell narcotic substances smuggled from Afghanistan within the Khorezm region.
Currently, criminal cases have been initiated against them under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and they have been remanded in custody by court order. Investigative actions are ongoing.
Officials urged citizens not to be indifferent to such situations and reminded them that reports can be made immediately via the short number 1520. It was emphasized that the confidentiality of personal data is fully guaranteed.
