Illegal use of electricity and gas detected in Samarkand

Authorities in Samarkand have uncovered several instances of illegal energy consumption. Investigations revealed individuals and businesses illegally connected to electricity and gas networks for commercial purposes. One case involved a citizen using the public electricity grid for a farmstead, accumulating a debt of 324.4 million Uzbek soums. Another instance saw a company illegally consuming 112.2 million soums worth of electricity for a production workshop. Additionally, a residential building was found to be illegally connected to the natural gas network, resulting in 241 million soums in unaccounted-for usage. Criminal cases have been initiated for theft in all these incidents, with investigations ongoing.

A number of cases related to the illegal use of energy resources have been exposed in the territory of the Samarkand region. Investigation work was carried out by the district and city departments of the Department under the Prosecutor General's Office.
In an investigation prior to the criminal case conducted by the Jomboy district department, it was found that citizen F.K. had illegally connected to the general electricity network for commercial purposes at his dacha in the "Dehqonobod" mahalla, using a total of 324.4 million soums worth of electricity without justification.
Similarly, in a case investigated by the Kattakurgon district department, it was revealed that G.M., the head of "K.G." LLC, illegally consumed 112.2 million soums worth of electricity by connecting the production workshop located in the "Navbahor" MFY territory to the power grid without permission.
Another case was recorded during the investigation by the Samarkand city department. D.Sh., the head of "Sh.S." LLC, arbitrarily connected a multi-story building commissioned for use in the city to the natural gas network, illegally using 241 million soums worth of gas resources.
Criminal cases have been initiated under Article 169 of the Criminal Code, i.e., theft, in all cases. Investigation activities are currently ongoing.
In short, the responsible authorities are intensifying the fight against the illegal use of energy resources. It is emphasized that such violations will lead to strict liability in the future.
