Illegal tobacco and alcohol sales uncovered in Qoʻqon and Bekobod

During special operations conducted in the cities of Qoʻqon and Bekobod, cases of illegal trade in tobacco and alcohol products were identified.
According to the Department under the Prosecutor General’s Office, in Qoʻqon it was exposed that an entrepreneur had put up for sale tobacco products without excise stamps as well as electronic cigarettes manufactured abroad in his store.
As a result of the inspection, more than 14,000 boxes of tobacco products worth a total of 288.2 million soum were identified and confiscated.
In Bekobod, it was found that the head of an LLC had sold alcoholic products with counterfeit excise stamps and tobacco products without documents at a sales point.
It was noted here that 619 units of alcohol products and more than 1,200 boxes of tobacco products were illegally offered for sale.
In both cases, the products were seized as material evidence, and criminal cases have been opened under the relevant articles, with investigations ongoing.
