Simone Inzaghi apologizes to fans after heavy defeat against Milan
Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi expressed his thoughts after the heavy defeat (0:3) against Milan in the Coppa Italia semifinal derby match.

"We sincerely apologize to our fans for this defeat. Of course, we deeply regret today's result. Milan has once again proven that they deserve respect. After the first half, I was extremely disappointed. Considering the opportunities we created, my players deserved to open the scoring more, but it didn’t happen," said Inzaghi.

According to him, the second-half setback played a crucial role: "In the second half, we conceded a goal from a corner kick, which negatively affected the team’s morale. After that, our performance deteriorated significantly. Honestly speaking, we're not accustomed to losing two consecutive matches. Therefore, we must seriously analyze these two defeats," emphasized the coach.

He also shared his thoughts on the previous game: "In the previous round against Bologna, we didn't deserve to lose either. But today, we simply lacked the physical and mental preparedness to match our opponents in the second half. Perhaps De Vrij’s goal could have turned the game around, but we must respect the strength of Milan, who have troubled us in the last five derbies this season," Simone Inzaghi added.

Recall that the first match between the teams ended in a 1:1 draw. However, over two legs, the Rossoneri advanced to the final. In the decisive Coppa Italia final, Milan will face the winner of the Bologna vs. Empoli match. Fans are eagerly awaiting the final showdown.
