Shomurodov spoke frankly about his mistake in Rome: "The coach is not my enemy..."
Eldor Shomurodov is one of the brightest stars of Uzbek football today. After he moved to one of the strongest clubs in Italy, Roma, many began to expect fast and high results from him. However, the first seasons in Italy were not easy for our compatriot. The player recently spoke candidly about his initial misjudgments and mental state.

Eldor admits his biggest mistake when he came to Roma. "When I came to Roma, there was Edin Dzeko in the squad. He was older, and I thought I would have more opportunities to play in the first team. But soon the club sold Dzeko. I was left as the only striker. After some time, information appeared in the press that negotiations were underway with Tammy Abraham. Even worse, some newspapers wrote that Abraham was guaranteed a place in the first team. "I tried not to believe it at the time, because I thought that if I was in good shape, the coach wouldn't come against me," the player said.

Recalling his first season at Roma, Shomurodov openly highlighted the negative psychological effects of the situation. "I scored a goal against Trabzonspor at the beginning of the season, which gave me a good boost. But then, before the match against Fiorentina, they put Abraham in the starting lineup, even though he had only arrived in Rome three days before the match. Abraham was also the first choice in the Conference League. From that moment on, I started to believe the reports in those newspapers, and there were thoughts that Abraham was actually guaranteed a place and I was being treated unfairly, and that really depressed me," says Eldor.

However, Eldor also emphasizes that he now understands that he actually chose the wrong path for himself in this situation: "Before that, I was a substitute in clubs like Rostov and Genoa, but even then I tried to show myself in the short minutes that were given to me. But in Roma, in addition to believing in myself, I began to look for fault in those around me. As a result, I stopped fighting, and this led to my decline. In fact, the most correct path was my attitude in Rostov. That is, I aimed to make the most of every minute given to me and influence the game. If I had maintained this aspect in Roma, the situation could have been different." Today, Eldor Shomurodov admits this mistake and emphasizes the need to take training seriously and use every opportunity. His sincere words can also be a useful lesson for young players. Shomurodov now believes in himself and is striving to achieve even greater results.

This sincere confession is important for both the player and his fans. Eldor's experience and spiritual path undoubtedly create a great foundation for his future successes. We expect many more important victories from our compatriot in the future!
