
Tomorrow, on June 13, 2025, the most prestigious competition of the year in adult judo - the World Championship - will start in the Hungarian capital, Budapest. This competition is important not only for medals, but also for high positions in the international ranking.
A total of 556 athletes from 93 countries - 294 male and 262 female judokas - will participate in the World Championship. Among them is the full national team of Uzbekistan. The most talented and experienced judokas of our country arrived in Budapest ready to bring honor to our country.
A draw ceremony was held before the World Championship, and members of our national team got acquainted with their opponents in the first round. Below you can see the results of the draw of the Uzbek athletes.
Men's matches:
• In the -60 kg weight category, Bahrom Boturov will take to the mat in the first round against Ariunbold Enkhtaivan from Mongolia or Maximilian Heider from Germany.
• -66 kg: Zamohshari Bekmurodov - Hekim Agamammedov (Turkmenistan).
• -66 kg: Azizbek Ortikov - Erbol Abasbekov (Kyrgyzstan).
• -73 kg: Shahram Akhadov - Lavjargal Anhzaya (Mongolia) or Aron Jabo (Hungary).
• -81 kg: Arslonbek Tojiev - Antonio Esposito (Italy).
• -90 kg: Nurbek Murtozoev - Remy Feuillet (Mauritius).
• -90 kg: Shahzodkhuja Sharipov - Cornelius Eiterzen (Norway).
• +100 kg: Alisher Yusupov - Mbangnik Ndiaye (Senegal).
• +100 kg: Muzaffarbek Turaboev - Jur Speijkers (Netherlands).
Women's matches:
• -48 kg: Halimajon Kurbanova - Wong Ka Lee (Hong Kong) or Lois Petit (Belgium).
• -48 kg: Laziza Khaydarova - Shirin Bukley (France).
• -52 kg: Sogdiana Rafkatova - Tatum Keen (Great Britain).
• -52 kg: Muhayyo Akhmatova - Ilay Hayun (Israel).
• -57 kg: Shukurjon Aminova - Marta Fawaz (France).
• -63 kg: Marjona Nurulloeva - Sabina Gerchak (Hungary).
• -70 kg: Khurshida Razzokberdieva - Liao Yu-Jung (Chinese Taipei).
• -78 kg: Marjona Kuchimova - Lianet Cardona (Cuba).
• +78 kg: Irishhon Kurbanbaeva - Erica Simonetti (Italy).
According to the Uzbekistan Judo Federation, the members of our national team have been seriously preparing for the championship, and each athlete aims to achieve high results in his weight category. We hope that the number of our athletes who will win the world champion title will increase, and the flag of our country will fly high again in international competitions.
