Is it time to take an example from the Uzbek model in Central Asian football?
The Uzbekistan national team became the first among Central Asian states to earn a spot in the World Cup, thus creating a new history. To achieve this success, under the leadership of Eldor Shomurodov, our players needed only to take second place in their group at the third stage of regional qualification.

In our country and neighboring states, opinions and discussions about this historic achievement have still not subsided. In an interview, a well-known specialist of the Kazakhstan Premier League, Kairat Nurdauletov, said: “The Uzbekistan national team’s qualification for the World Cup is not the result of just one day, but the result of many years of collective and systematic work. This process includes at least a decade of effort,” he emphasized.

In his opinion, this success is not limited only to the work of the players and coaches. The federation, government officials, and the entire sports community acted together. At the moment, the topic of football is being discussed in Uzbekistan even at the parliamentary level, which is also bearing its results.

Nurdauletov stressed that, inspired by the achievements of neighboring countries, one should not only take an example from them but also exchange experience. “We are always compared with our neighbors, but to admire their successes, to be inspired by their results — that is a good thing,” the coach said.

Currently, Central Asian states are making noticeable progress in football. It is recognized that the national teams of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan are seriously competing at the Asian level and achieving good results. Kazakhstan, meanwhile, has reached a new stage by participating in European competitions.

At the same time, among the footballers who have reached the highest peaks in the region and regularly play in Europe’s top leagues, athletes from Uzbekistan hold a special place. In particular, Eldor Shomurodov has been playing in the Italian championship for five years, Abdukodir Khusanov is defending the honor of “Manchester City” in the English Premier League, and Laziz Mirzaev is actively performing for the youth team of “Leganes” in Spain — all this has become a great source of inspiration for our youth.

This achievement has become a strong incentive for striving for new heights not only in Uzbekistan, but also for all footballers in the region.
