Real Madrid decide to part ways with highly paid defender
Real Madrid is planning to offload high-earning players this summer to reduce their wage bill, and Austrian defender David Alaba is at the top of the list, according to AS.

Alaba joined Real from Bayern Munich in 2021 as a free agent and initially became a key figure in defense. However, recurring injuries have limited his appearances. Last season, he played just 14 matches.

Alaba earns €415,000 per week (about 61 billion UZS), making him the third-highest-paid player at the club, behind only Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior. He’s also one of the top earners among defenders across Europe.

While the club wants to sell him to ease financial pressure, Alaba himself is not interested in leaving. His contract runs until June 30, 2026, and he wants to stay to regain top form ahead of the upcoming World Cup.

His future now hinges on the success of his rehabilitation from the injury he suffered in late June. Real is open to offers but may need to wait for Alaba's recovery before making a final decision.
