David Alaba to leave Real Madrid: What is his next destination?

David Alaba will part ways with Real Madrid at the end of the current season. The Madrid club officially confirmed on Friday that the Austrian defender's expiring contract will not be renewed. After a five-year stint, the 33-year-old will become a free agent and begin searching for a new team. This is according to reports Goal.com.
Currently, a number of top clubs are closely monitoring Alaba's situation. According to ESPN, Manchester United has expressed interest in signing the experienced defender. AC Milan could also join the race for the player. Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano added that clubs from the USA and Saudi Arabia are also assessing the situation.
David Alaba joined Real Madrid from Bayern Munich in 2021. In Madrid, he won the Champions League twice and La Liga twice. However, his time in Spain was overshadowed by serious injuries. Due to a torn ACL at the end of 2023 and a subsequent meniscus injury, he was sidelined for a long period and played only 15 matches this season.
Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez expressed his gratitude to the player, stating, "Real Madrid will always be his home." A farewell ceremony for Alaba will be held during the final home match of the season against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday. Afterward, he will head to the World Cup as the captain of the Austria national team.
