Manchester City's leading Portuguese midfielder Bernardo Silva shared his thoughts on the team's competitors, emphasizing that he doesn't see Arsenal among the main rivals yet.
According to him, every derby and competition in English football has its own history and unique spirit. For example, matches against Manchester United are geographically important, as both teams represent the same city. However, in recent years, the Red Devils have been experiencing a period of crisis, so they are not a serious obstacle to the championship.
"Liverpool has always been our main rival. Because in recent seasons, they regularly fought shoulder to shoulder with us for the championship, and in some cases, they even won. The intensity of this competition is stronger than all other clashes," Silva said.
The Portuguese footballer also touched upon Arsenal. He emphasized that the Gunners have significantly strengthened in recent years, making significant strides in terms of squad and playing style. However, they have not yet reached the level of becoming a permanent contender for the championship.
"Of course, Arsenal has started competing for trophies in recent years. They have potential and are getting stronger, but they still need to reach the leading level in the championship stage," Silva added.
