The match at the Etihad, held as part of Matchday 6 of the English Premier League, ended with a real goal rain. Josep Guardiola's players achieved a strong-willed 5:1 victory over Burnley, who were visitors.
The Cityzens took the lead early in the match. Burnley defender Esteve scored an own goal in the 12th minute, opening the score.
Even though they had already found their way to the opponent’s goal in the first half, Manchester City did not stop. Nunes's accurate shot in the 61st minute made the score a big one. In addition, the unlucky Esteve, who had an unfortunate game that day, scored another own goal in the 65th minute, making the score even larger.
The most exciting moments happened in the final part of the match. Team leader Erling Haaland showcased his skills by scoring twice against the opposition and registering a brace.
Burnley’s only goal was scored by Anthony in the 38th minute. However, this did not affect the result. The 5:1 victory further strengthened Manchester City’s high position in the competition.
