Marseille defeated Ajax by a large margin

In the Champions League match held in France, Marseille hosted Ajax on its home ground and showed a confident performance. In the opening minutes of the match, I. Payet scored twice (6’ and 12’) to put his team ahead. Then M. Greenwood (26’) and P.-E. Aubameyang (52’) further increased the score.

Although Ajax looked superior statistically (53% ball possession and 13 shots), Marseille distinguished itself with accurate shots — 6 out of 9 shots were on target. Ajax, on the other hand, managed to hit the target only twice.

With this result, Marseille strengthened its strong position in the group stage.
