Our athletes Otabek Yuldashboev (-65 kg) and Durdona Tursunova (-70 kg) defeated their opponents in their weight categories and won gold medals on the very first day of the competition. This was reported by the press service of the National Olympic Committee.
Experienced wrestler Durdona Tursunova defeated her Kyrgyz opponent in the final with high wrestling technique and skill. Also, Otabek Yuldashboyev dominated the match against the Iranian athlete and took first place in his discipline.
These victories are the first medals for the Uzbekistan national team in the competition and provided high morale and motivation for further participation.
As a reminder, the III Asian Youth Games will be held in Bahrain from October 20 to November 2, 2025. Young athletes from more than 40 countries are competing in more than 20 sports. The fact that the wrestling matches for Uzbekistan will begin with a victory gives grounds to expect high results from the representatives of our country in the coming days.
