Guardiola spoke about Bernardo Silva's future

Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola commented on the future of team leader and captain Bernardo Silva next season.

As is known, the 31-year-old Portuguese midfielder's current contract expires on June 30, 2026. In recent weeks, reports have surfaced in the English and European media that Silva will not renew his contract with the Citizens and wants to try his hand at another championship.

However, Guardiola stated that the player has not yet made any official decision on this matter.

"Bernardo hasn't told me anything about his future yet. He is the captain of our team, a very important player, and we all love him. However, he has not yet told us what he intends to do," Guardiola said in an interview with journalists.

Bernardo Silva joined Manchester City from Monaco in 2017. Since then, he has won almost all prestigious trophies with the team - the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, and Champions League titles.

His high level of versatility - the ability to play with equal effectiveness both in the center and on the wing - remains a significant advantage for City. At the same time, Bernardou's hard work and leadership qualities on the field are especially valued by fans.

Currently, several major European clubs - Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, and Juventus - are interested in the Portuguese footballer. It is also reported that financially powerful Saudi Arabian clubs are preparing high-paying offers for Silva.

Guardiola, however, assessed this as a natural process:

"Every footballer develops a desire to change at a certain stage of their life. But Bernardo hasn't made any decision yet. We will talk with him about plans for the long term," the coach said.

Thus, Bernardo Silva's future remains uncertain. However, at the Etihad Stadium, his name is still important, he maintains his position as the team's main engine.
