Manchester City's Italian goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma, commented on two stars in world football - Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé - in a recent interview.
When a journalist asked him, "Which one would you like to see on your team - Haaland or Mbappé?" Donnarumma hesitated before answering.
"Erling is left-handed, so he's quite different from Kylian. It's very difficult to stand against the two - each is a world-class striker in their own style. Therefore, choosing one of them is not easy. But if you have to choose, I would like to see Haaland in my team," he said.
The goalkeeper's thoughts once again reminded us of the unique aspects of both football stars. Donnarumma emphasized that Haaland's physical strength and accurate shots are a great test for any goalkeeper, while Mbappé is still unmatched in terms of speed and dribbling.
As a reminder, Gianluigi Donnarumma played for Paris Saint-Germain from 2021 to 2024, playing alongside Kylian Mbappé. Together they won the French championship and the national cup.
Currently, Donnarumma is the goalkeeper for Manchester City. His former teammate, Mbappé, is playing for Real Madrid, while Norwegian Erling Haaland is shining as a leading forward at City.
Scoring statistics also show the two stars' high form this season: Haaland scored 18 goals and provided 2 assists in 15 matches, while Mbappe led his team with 16 goals and 2 assists in 15 appearances.
According to experts, these two forwards hold a special position among the current generation of football in terms of goal-scoring effectiveness, and the competition between them is reminiscent of the new "Messi-Ronaldo" era for world football.
