Uzbek sambists returned from the World Championship with 10 medals

The World Sambo Championship among adults was held in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, on November 7-9. Representatives of more than fifty countries of the world took part in this prestigious competition. The national team of Uzbekistan also traditionally tied the belt and achieved high results.

During the competition, Uzbek sambists won a total of 10 medals - 8 silver and 2 bronze. This result led our national team to one of the leading positions in the overall standings. Our athletes competed not only in freestyle sambo, but also in combat and para-sambo.

Silver medalists:

- Ibodatkhon Agojonova (-59 kg), who reached the final in her category, lost to her experienced opponent in the final minutes.

- Gulina Oblokulova (-72 kg), demonstrated high preparedness and willpower in the fights.

- Asror Hamidov (+98 kg) competed in the heavyweight category and recorded the second result among the strongest sambists in the world.

- Shahzoda Azatova (-65 kg, combat sambo) - distinguished herself by physical strength and tactical thinking.

- Oybek Soliyev (-64 kg, combat sambo) - the path to the final passed through difficult opponents.

- Sohibjon Hasanboyev (-88 kg, combat sambo) - demonstrated high skill.

- Islam Nasirov (+98 kg, combat sambo) - in a difficult match, he lost by several points in the final and was limited to a silver medal.

- Diyorbek Maydonov (-64 kg, parasambo) - defended the honor of our country through strong-willed wrestling.

Bronze medalists were also honored:

- Khurshida Abduvakhidova (-59 kg, combat sambo) and Madinabonu Salohiddinova (-72 kg, combat sambo) defeated their opponents in the bronze medal match with a clear advantage.

At the end of the competition, the team's coaching staff expressed satisfaction with the results of their students. They emphasized that these medals won at the World Championship will be a powerful impetus for even higher results in subsequent international competitions.

The success of Uzbek sambists in Bishkek is assessed as the result of continuous training in the country's sports school, the support of the national federation, and the hard work of the athletes.

Thus, our sambists once again demonstrated their potential on the world stage and raised the flag of our country high.
