Burnley FC player, Tunisian Hannibal Mejbri, faces the threat of a long-term suspension from the Premier League Disciplinary Committee for allegedly spitting at a fan. The incident occurred a month ago, on October 18, during the second half of the match between Burnley and Leeds United.
In that match, Burnley claimed a 2–0 victory. After the game, a Leeds fan lodged a complaint regarding the player's actions, prompting an official investigation.
If the player is found guilty, the former Manchester United footballer could face a suspension of up to six matches. Currently, Burnley stands in 17th place in the Premier League table.
