Kostich Says Stoykovich Should Have Been Dismissed Earlier

The Serbian national team failed to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. They finished third in their group, falling behind not only England (as expected) but also Albania, which made the disappointment even more painful.

Filip Kostić attributed this failure to the former national team head coach Dragan Stojković. According to Kostić, Stojković should have been dismissed earlier.

"If we had started earlier with the current coach, the results would have been significantly better. We definitely wouldn’t have lost to Albania.

This is a huge disappointment for me, one of the biggest in my life," Kostić said in an interview with DerbyDerbyDerby.it. Currently, the Serbian national team is managed by Veljko Paunović.
