Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz helped Turkey's national team secure a 2-0 victory over Bulgaria in the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers, although he failed to score. The hosts opened the scoring in the 18th minute through a precise penalty by Hakan Calhanoglu.
In the second half, an own goal solidified Turkey's victory. The 20-year-old star from Turin had several opportunities but was unable to convert them into goals.
"I’m sorry, I should have scored twice today, but I wasted both chances," Yildiz told the Italian press. In the final round of the tournament, Turkey will face Spain away on Tuesday, November 18.
