Perišić Makes History in the Champions League

In European football, the Matchday 5 fixtures of the Champions League group stage have concluded. The Dutch club PSV Eindhoven delivered a surprising performance, defeating England's Liverpool 4–1 in an away game.

In this encounter, the scoring was opened by Croatia's national team veteran Ivan Perišić. The 36-year-old, 297 days, scored a penalty in the 6th minute.

As a result, he became the third-oldest player in Champions League history to score a goal from the penalty spot. Only two players rank higher in this achievement: Spain's Sergio Ramos (37 years, 257 days) and another Croatian, Luka Modrić (37 years, 54 days).
