The Men’s World Championship, currently taking place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, has entered an intense phase. The fifth day of the tournament was full of developments that kept fans engaged, as four of our compatriots entered the ring on this day.
In the -48 kg weight category, the eagerly anticipated quarterfinal match was as intense and fierce as expected. Our representative, Shodiyorjon Meliqoziyev, participated in a tough and uncompromising duel against the experienced Azerbaijani opponent Subkhan Mammadov. Unfortunately, the match ended in a 1-4 decision in favor of the opponent, and Meliqoziyev was unable to continue in the tournament.
Meanwhile, our national team is still looking ahead to another crucial clash. Our compatriot Asilbek Jalilov is set to face Serbian boxer Artur Nagapetyan soon. This bout is also expected to be one of the pivotal matches that could significantly alter the dynamics of the championship.
