Former Russian national team football player Dmitry Bulykin shared his opinion on Matvey Safonov's chances of becoming the main goalkeeper at PSG. According to him, the Russian goalkeeper's consecutive clean sheets in two matches is an important signal for the coaching staff.
However, he also highlighted the seriousness of the competition with Lucas Chevalier. "Of course, if we talk about Safonov's recent 'clean' games, there is a combination of factors here – PSG's defense and the overall teamwork of the entire squad.
But his individual performance cannot be ignored. The most important thing is to avoid mistakes in simple situations," Bulykin said in an interview with Vprognoze.ru.
Bulykin emphasized that consistency and avoiding errors in straightforward episodes could help Safonov gain the trust of the coaching staff. Matvey Safonov has appeared in only two matches for PSG this season, managing to keep a clean sheet in both.
