Borussia Dortmund defeated Borussia Mönchengladbach 2-0 in the Bundesliga. The early goal in the match set the tone for the game, which was characterized by control and battles in key moments.
In the 10th minute, Niklas Süle delivered a cross from the right wing after a short pass from Pascal Groß. Julian Brandt struck the ball from the edge of the penalty area without giving the goalkeeper a chance — 1-0.
In the first half, Dortmund created several more chances. Daniel Svensson broke into the penalty area from the left wing and passed the ball to Serhou Guirassy.
Although Guirassy hesitated slightly, he managed to get the ball to Karim Adeyemi. However, Adeyemi's powerful shot from seven meters out was saved by the goalkeeper. For the visitors, Florian Neuhaus prepared a dangerous cross from the left side, but Süle's timely sliding tackle saved Dortmund from trouble.
In the second half, Mönchengladbach defender Kevin Diks delayed clearing the ball, allowing Adeyemi to press with a sliding tackle and take possession. However, Adeyemi's shot went just over the goal.
For Mönchengladbach, Wael Mheila received the ball in the penalty area on the left side and unleashed a powerful shot under the crossbar, but Dortmund's goalkeeper saved his team. Later, after a mistake by Kevin Stöger, Maximilian Bayer broke away from the central circle toward the opponent's goal, entered the penalty area, and aimed for the right corner, but the goalkeeper made a save.
The final goal came in the 90th minute. In the last attack, Fabio Silva received a pass from Yan Couto, reached the penalty area, and passed to an unmarked Bayer.
Bayer struck precisely with his left foot from 14 meters, making it 2-0. Following this victory, Borussia Dortmund climbed to a solid second place on the league table, trailing league leaders Bayern Munich by six points.
Borussia Mönchengladbach, on the other hand, currently sits in 11th place. Read “Zamin” on Telegram!
