Brazilian midfielder David Neres secured victory for his club in the Italian Super Cup by scoring twice against Bologna. Earlier, in the semifinal, Neres also scored a goal against Milan, leading Napoli to a 2-0 victory and eliminating Massimiliano Allegri's team from the tournament.
It was revealed that this marked the first time Neres scored in two consecutive games for Napoli — something he had not achieved before. Notably, Napoli has now claimed the Italian Super Cup for the third time, following their victories in 1991 and 2014.
Neres joined Napoli in 2024. The club is currently in third place in the Serie A standings.
