World Champions Presented with Presidential Gifts

World champions honored with Presidential gifts

Today, a ceremony was held at the Museum of Olympic and Paralympic Glory in our capital to honor athletes who proudly represented Uzbekistan at the World Championships in WKF Karate and WT Taekwondo. The event focused on celebrating the champions, medalists, and their coaches who achieved high accomplishments.

During the ceremony, the athletes were presented with valuable gifts and monetary awards from the President of Uzbekistan. This gesture once again highlighted the nation’s strong emphasis on sports and the high regard for hard work and victory.

Particular recognition was given to Gulshan Alimardonova, who made history by becoming the first female world champion from Uzbekistan in WKF Karate, and Najmiddin Qosimkhojiyev, who secured a world championship title in WT Taekwondo for Uzbekistan after a decade-long hiatus. These two champions were awarded a “BYD Song Plus” car and a cash prize of $15,000 each.

Additionally, athletes who won silver and bronze medals at the world championships, as well as their coaches who prepared them for great achievements, were not overlooked. They were also presented with one-time monetary awards.

Such recognition and incentives are undoubtedly strong motivations for athletes as they pursue greater victories and will further elevate the international reputation of Uzbek sports.
