England fans challenged FIFA World Cup 2026 ticket prices

Overall, this time, English fans showed their position much earlier: they rejected the offer to buy 6,000 seats. It's not just about regular tickets - more than 1,000 tickets to the final, valued between £3,130 and £6,489, weren't received as "no thanks" by fans.

According to reports, 90% of the 30,000 members of the "England Sapporters Travel Club" were unwilling to receive tickets offered at prices set by FIFA. This was also evident in the sales results of the English Football Association.

Specifically, the English Football Association managed to sell only 3,409 tickets out of 4,500 tickets allocated for the final, which will take place on July 19th at the 82,000-seat MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. So, 1091 tickets remained unsold.

Notably, the total value of these unsold 1,091 tickets exceeds £7.1 million. Another important aspect is that almost all of them belong to the 1st category, the most expensive sectors. In short, "best places" doesn't always mean "the fastest selling places."

The situation is similar in the semi-finals: the English Football Association sold 2,686 out of 3,500 seats. Except for 500 budget tickets worth £45, the remaining prices have "raised" from £687 to £2,370.

One thing is clear: fans calculate both mood and money. If the price policy continues in this way, entering the stadium for future big games may become more like a "premium test" rather than a "football festival." If FIFA and organizers draw conclusions from this, there is a high probability that more realistic, more popular options for real fans will increase in subsequent tournaments.
