In the 26th round of the Italian Serie A, Genoa hosted Torino at their home ground and secured a convincing 3-0 victory, delighting their fans. Throughout the game, the hosts seemed superior both in attack and psychologically - while Torino put themselves in a difficult position with several mistakes.
In the 21st minute, the first dangerous moment turned into a goal. Caleb Ekuban shot, and though the goalkeeper cleared the ball, Brook Norton-Kaffi opened the scoring by putting the rebound into the net. This episode showed that Genoa had switched to more strict control of the game since then.
And just before the end of the first half, Ekuban himself became the author of the goal: he "delivered" the situation to the end and, with a precise shot, brought the difference to two goals - 2:0. For Torino, this half-time was a heavy blow not only in the game but also in the mood.
Before the break, the visitors faced another problem: in stoppage time, Emirkhan Ilkhon received a red card for a foul on Lorenzo Colombo. As a result, Torino were forced to play the second half with one man down.
After that, Genoa's situation became even easier. In the 83rd minute, Markus Pedersen committed a blunder in defense, and Junior Messias skillfully capitalized on the opportunity to extend the lead - 3:0. The game ended this way: clean, reliable, and very important three points for the hosts.
Following this result, both Genoa and Torino are in around 14th place in the league table with 27 points each. The gap with the bottom zone remains six points, so each match is now worth "gold."
