Pulisic's goal drought reaches 18 matches due to Milan tactics

AC Milan forward Christian Pulisic's prolonged goal drought is reportedly linked not only to a decline in form but also to the team's flawed tactical scheme. The system implemented by Massimiliano Allegri is failing to capitalize on the American player's strengths, according to a report by Goal.com.
Following Sunday's 0-0 draw against Juventus, Allegri acknowledged the attacking issues. The pairing of Pulisic and Rafael Leao has failed to deliver the expected results when operating without a central striker.

This situation is negatively impacting the overall effectiveness of the team.
Since the beginning of 2026, Pulisic has failed to score in 18 matches for both club and country. His 16-game goal drought at the club level has become the worst statistical period of his career.

Although the player remains the team's second-highest scorer with eight goals, he has been unable to add to his tally for five months.
Speaking on the player's psychological state, Allegri noted that Pulisic is a very sensitive individual and that the current situation is weighing heavily on him. The manager admitted to using a 3-5-2 formation to maintain balance in the team, but conceded that wingers feel uncomfortable in this tactic.
AC Milan has scored only one goal and collected four points in its last four matches. As a result, the team has fallen behind Inter and dropped to third place in the league standings.
Despite defensive stability, the crisis in the attacking line is drawing criticism from fans.
