FIFA increases prize fund for 2026 World Cup to record level

FIFA has decided to significantly increase the funds allocated to participating countries for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This important decision was officially confirmed during the FIFA Council meeting held in Vancouver, Canada.
It is reported that the total prize fund to be distributed among the 48 participating teams has been increased by 15 percent, reaching 871 million dollars. This is considered one of the largest financial packages in the history of the World Cup.
According to the updated decision, the subsidy allocated to each participating team for preparation processes will be raised from 1.5 million dollars to 2.5 million dollars. These funds will serve to cover costs related to team training camps, logistics, and infrastructure.
At the same time, the prize money for teams that successfully pass the qualifying stage and reach the final stage has also been increased. This amount will now be 10 million dollars instead of 9 million dollars. These changes are sure to serve as even stronger motivation for national teams.
Additionally, separate subsidies will be allocated for the accommodation expenses of participating team delegations. Furthermore, an expanded ticket quota worth approximately 16 million dollars will be provided for all teams, which will also create great opportunities for fans.
For reference, the 2026 World Cup will take place from June 11 to July 19 in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Most joyfully — the Uzbekistan national team will participate in this prestigious competition for the first time in its history.
In short, these changes are taking the World Cup to a new level, not only in terms of sports but also financially. For Uzbekistan fans, this tournament will be a big stage where dreams come true.
