Mohamed Salah has called on Liverpool fans to give former captain Jordan Henderson a proper welcome when he returns to Anfield. The Egyptian forward believes that Henderson's unexpected departure in 2023 did not allow for a proper farewell. This was reported by Goal.com xabar.
Henderson is expected to take the field for Brentford in Liverpool's final match of the season. He was unable to officially say goodbye to the fans due to his sudden transfer to Saudi Arabia.
Salah emphasized that the former captain's role at the club was incomparable. According to him, Henderson served as team captain for 12 years and contributed to numerous achievements.
"He didn't get the farewell he deserved because he left immediately. I hope the fans do something special for him," Salah said.
Henderson himself has also mentioned that he found his departure from the club very difficult to accept.
