Bayern Munich leadership unhappy with refereeing in Champions League

Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen sharply criticized UEFA's referee appointments following the Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain. The Munich club claims they were denied a spot in the final due to controversial decisions at the Allianz Arena. This is reported by Goal.com .
Dreesen highlighted the inexperience of Portuguese referee Joao Pinheiro, questioning why he was appointed for such a crucial match. In an interview with BILD, he called it astonishing that the referee had never officiated a semi-final before and had only overseen 15 Champions League games in total.
Head coach Vincent Kompany did not hide his dissatisfaction with the officiating either. The Belgian manager was particularly angered by the failure to award a penalty for a handball by Joao Neves. While Kompany acknowledged that under the rules it might not be a penalty, he labeled the referee's decisions as illogical.
Furthermore, the referee's hesitation in a situation where Nuno Mendes should have received a second yellow card caused strong objections from Bayern representatives. According to sporting director Max Eberl, the game would have taken a completely different turn had a red card been shown in that instance.
