Marseille forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been dropped from the squad following an unusual incident at the club's training base. The experienced player was left out of the matchday squad for Sunday's game against Le Havre. This is reported by Goal.com reports .
According to L’Équipe, Aubameyang led a group that caused a disturbance at the team's headquarters on Thursday evening. Frustrated by the players being kept at the base for too long, the forward, along with about 10 other players, caused a commotion in the building to vent their frustration.
The situation took an unexpected turn. The group used a fire extinguisher, spraying it at club sporting official Bob Tahri. The official's dormitory and personal belongings were also damaged.
An enraged Tahri immediately complained to the club's management. Marseille's leadership decided to punish Aubameyang as the leader of the group, accusing him of violating discipline.
Club presidents Alban Juster and Stéphane Richard held a meeting with the team, emphasizing that such behavior is unacceptable. Aubameyang's suspension is the first step toward establishing strict discipline within the squad.
