Callum Wilson: The goal against Arsenal should not have been disallowed

West Ham striker Callum Wilson has criticized the inconsistency in the decisions of Premier League referees. He expressed his dissatisfaction after his goal against Arsenal was disallowed by VAR. Although referee Chris Kavanagh initially awarded the goal, after a video review, it was determined that Pablo had obstructed goalkeeper David Raya, leading to the goal being ruled out. This is reported by Goal.com .
In his interview, Wilson emphasized that the officials were too strict in this situation. According to him, such physical battles in the penalty area are common, and other teams use similar tactics. The player stated that if referees penalize every minor contact as a foul, scoring goals in the game would become almost impossible.
The striker also analyzed the situation by pointing out that Leandro Trossard and Gabriel had also committed fouls against opposing players at that moment. In his opinion, if Pablo's action was a foul, then the actions of other players should have been penalized as well.
PGMOL chief Howard Webb fully supported the referees' decision. He noted that holding a goalkeeper's arm is a clear foul and that officials must protect goalkeepers. However, Wilson disagrees with this explanation and continues to complain about the lack of a single standard in refereeing.
