Antonelli extends lead after Canada

The Formula 1 season standings have become even more intriguing following the Canadian Grand Prix. Mercedes driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli has further solidified his lead in the overall rankings after another brilliant result.

With his victory in Canada, Antonelli now has 131 points in the drivers' standings. His teammate George Russell follows in second place with 88 points. Thus, the gap between the two Mercedes drivers has reached 43 points.

This result demonstrates how consistent and confident Antonelli has been this season. The young driver is showing great maturity in scoring points in every Grand Prix, seizing opportunities, and punishing rivals' mistakes. The win in Canada once again confirmed he is the main contender for the title.

The situation also looks very favorable for Mercedes. The team's two drivers occupy the first and second places in the standings. This provides a significant advantage not only for the Drivers' Championship but also for the Constructors' Championship.

In third place is Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc with 75 points. His teammate Lewis Hamilton is in fourth with 72 points. Ferrari drivers are continuing to fight for top positions, but the gap to Antonelli is quite significant.

McLaren representatives Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri are in fifth and sixth places with 58 and 48 points, respectively. Although they have shown good pace in some races, they will need more consistent results to catch up with the Mercedes and Ferrari drivers.

Notably, Red Bull driver Max Verstappen remains in seventh place with 43 points. For the Dutch driver, who has been seen as one of the main title favorites in recent years, this result can be considered an unexpectedly low performance.

The top ten in the standings also includes Pierre Gasly, Oliver Bearman, and Liam Lawson. Each of them is making an important contribution to their team in the fight for points.
