Nasaf Defeat OKMK in Olmaliq as the League Table Heats Up

Nasaf secured an important away win in Matchday 15 of the Super League. The Qarshi side defeated OKMK 2:1, moved to 24 points and climbed to sixth place in the league table.

Bobur Abduxoliqov’s early goal changed the course of the match, while Sharof Muhitdinov strengthened the lead in the second half. The hosts revived the intrigue through Avazbek O‘lmasaliyev’s reply, but the Dragons held on in the closing stages.

Abduxoliqov needed just eight minutes

The match in Olmaliq began almost perfectly for Nasaf. Bobur Abduxoliqov scored in the eighth minute to put the visitors ahead — 0:1.

After conceding early, OKMK had to commit more players forward in search of an equaliser. Nasaf maintained defensive discipline and looked to exploit open spaces.

Abduxoliqov’s scoring form is no coincidence. In July, he against Bunyodkor also scored twice in a match that ended 3:1.

Muhitdinov doubled the advantage

The first half ended with Nasaf holding a narrow lead. Although OKMK increased the pressure after the break, the next goal was scored by the visitors.

In the 61st minute, Sharof Muhitdinov made it 2:0. The goal allowed Nasaf to continue the match in a much more comfortable scenario.

Muhitdinov has also made an impact in cup matches this season, scoring against Havoqand and Sho‘rtan.

O‘lmasaliyev revived the intrigue

Despite trailing by two goals, OKMK did not stop fighting. In the 70th minute, Avazbek O‘lmasaliyev scored the hosts’ only goal to make it 1:2.

The Olmaliq club tried to increase the pressure in search of an equaliser. However, Nasaf’s defence, led by Abduvohid Ne’matov, held firm in the decisive moments.

Victory takes Nasaf closer to the top group

After collecting three points in Olmaliq, Ro‘ziqul Berdiyev’s team moved to 24 points. Nasaf climbed to sixth place and remained in contention near the top of the table.

OKMK are fourth with 25 points. This means the gap between the two teams is now just one point.

The Matchday 15 fixture between OKMK and Nasaf was scheduled to take place on 3 August.

Berdiyev’s team found momentum at an important time

Nasaf began improving its results during the July phase of the season. The team won 3:1 away at Bunyodkor and then drew with Mash’al.

Against OKMK, the Qarshi side demonstrated two important qualities:

• taking an early chance;

• holding on to the result when the opponent’s pressure increased.

In particular, the goals from Abduxoliqov and Muhitdinov showed that different players can deliver in the attacking line.

OKMK lined up with Javohir Ilyosov, Giorgi Papava, Avazbek O‘lmasaliyev, Dilshod Ahmadaliyev, Abubakr Rizo Turdialiyev, Aziz Xolmurodov, Asadbek Sobirjonov, Nodir Abdurazzoqov, Saidafzalxon Ahrorov, Abror Karimov and Siyavash Haqnazariy.

One victory changed the league-table picture

Had OKMK won at home, they could have moved four points clear of Nasaf. Instead, the Qarshi side’s 2:1 victory made the competition in the top group even tighter.

Nasaf are now just one point behind fourth place. In the second half of the season, every matchday could bring changes of several positions in the table.

In Olmaliq, the decisive difference was Nasaf’s efficient finishing: the visitors scored twice at important moments and took all three points back to Qarshi despite the hosts’ late pressure.
