Tesla is facing a class action lawsuit in California over allegations of manipulated odometer readings, reports Wylsa.com.
The complaint was initiated by Nayri Hinton, who bought a Tesla Model Y two years ago. He claims that within the first 6 months, his car logged 21,000 km — more than double what his previous vehicles recorded under similar usage.
Strangely, the high mileage growth stopped exactly at 80,000 km, which is the end of Tesla's basic warranty.
Hinton suspects Tesla intentionally inflates mileage to move cars out of warranty faster.
Other Tesla owners have voiced similar concerns on Reddit, but this is the first to escalate to a court case. Plaintiffs are seeking a jury trial, and compensation amounts will be determined later. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
