OpenAI’s CEO Sam Altman described the possibility that artificial intelligence could one day take control of the entire world as one of the greatest threats to humanity.
This was reported by Bild.
In a conversation with Axel Springer media company CEO Mathias Döpfner, Altman said:
"The model may accidentally take control of the world." According to him, there are two other possible dangerous scenarios: AI might either subjugate those in power or end its own existence.
Speaking about the ChatGPT neural network, Altman noted that the number of users could soon reach several billions. In his view, people increasingly rely on AI’s answers when making important decisions in both life and work.
"People are more and more following AI’s advice. This could lead to humans losing control," he said.
